Bus Drivers need love too

I came 2 a realization the other day.

Over and above my effort to say 'Bonjour' and 'Merci' to the Bus Drivers, I realized I was just following a self-imposed formality without heart. I've noticed especially with most teens- that people just show their pass and move on. Like the Bus Driver is just a robot scanning monthly authorizations for boardings. It's fuckin rude. So I figured I should give the courtesy of thanking the Bus Driver for a safe trip whenever I get off. But I never really did it with heart.

Now I do. I look 'em in the eye-and keep that contact, 'Bonjour' when I get on, 'Merci' when I show 'em my pass. 'Merci et bon nuit.' when I get off. It makes such a big difference. They light up because you've taken the time to acknowledge them as a human being. It's important to treat everyone as humanely as possible. Sometime's I'll pass a homeless person asking for change. I may not have money, but I at least try to say sorry, because in most cases I'm damn broke myself.

We City Kids forget these small but important courtesies in life. If you were travelling space by yourself for months on end, you'd practically fuck the very next human you saw.

Let's try to appreci8 each other...

i'll try to yell them a 'bone nuit' next time they zip by me at 100 mph at 2:30 a.m., leaving me standing in the cold.
